Shane previously served as a Real Estate Consultant and Sales Agent with FRC for two years before being promoted into this leadership role.
Prior to joining FRC, Shane worked with Greencone Investments, LLC, where he assisted investors in acquiring properties for the purpose of establishing conservation easements as well as managing a portfolio of client-owned timberland assets. Before working with Greencone, he spent eleven years serving as a Vice President and Capital Markets Officer with AgSouth Farm Credit.
In this position, he was responsible for client development and loan underwriting on a portfolio of timberland assets averaging approximately $150 million annually. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Forestry at the University of Georgia, Shane spent nearly eight years procuring wood for two timber dealers in northeastern Georgia and the Upstate of South Carolina.
He is an active member of the Georgia Forestry Association and is a past member of the Georgia Forestry Foundation Board of Trustees.

Hal Carter is the Director of Valuation Services for FRC and is located in the Cordele, Georgia office. Hal leads the Valuation Services Team collaborating on appraisal and acquisition due diligence projects on timberland and farmland properties throughout the southeastern United States. He joined FRC in July of 2023 as a Senior Appraiser.
Prior to joining FRC, he worked at AgGeorgia Farm Credit for 12 years, serving as the bank’s Chief Appraiser from 2020 until his departure. As Chief Appraiser, he led a team of valuators and certified appraisers in completing appraisals of timberland and farmland across the AgGeorgia territory. His experience also includes working for ten years as an independent fee appraiser. During this time, he completed real estate valuation projects on residential, commercial, and rural land.
Hal received an undergraduate degree in General Business from Georgia Southern University (GSU) in 1998. While at GSU, he competed as a member of the Eagles football team. Hal is a Certified General Real Property Appraiser in multiple states and earned the designation of Accredited Rural Appraiser from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers.

Mike Huffman is a Senior Client Account Manager providing management oversight on institutional and private client holdings in the greater Texarkana region including southwest Arkansas, east Texas, northwest Louisiana, and southeast Oklahoma. He comes to FRC with over 20 years of experience in forestry consulting and property management. Mike’s previous work experience includes serving as a Fiber Inspector at Think Power Solutions, General Foreman at Phillips & Jordan, and Forester with Berry College.
Mike is a 2001 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry. In 2018, Mike obtained his Master of Business Administration from Berry College. He is also a Registered Forester in the state of Georgia and Arkansas.

Brian Tison is an Account Manager providing management oversight on both institutional and private client holdings in central and eastern Georgia. Prior to joining our team, Brian’s spent seven years with The Forestry Company in Perry, FL where he rose to the position of Senior Forester.
In this position he gained extensive experience conducting timber sales, supervising logging operations, developing management plans, and completing timber inventories on client-owned lands. Brian graduated from Oregon State University in 2011 with BS in Natural Resource, and he is a member of the Association of Consulting Foresters and the Florida Forestry Association.

Chris serves as the Account Manager in charge of forestry management operations south Georgia. Prior to this role, he served as a Forester in the Waycross office where he was responsible for executing field work for the company’s TIMO, REIT, and private clients.

Nick is an Account Manager in our Columbus, GA office where he handles all aspects of forest management for numerous clients in Western Georgia and Eastern Alabama. Nick previously worked as a forester in our Columbus, GA office as well as our Nacogdoches, TX office where he supported forest management operations in those areas.
Nick started with FRC in May of 2019 after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the Auburn University College of Forestry, Wildlife, and Environment. Nick is originally from Central Alabama.

Phil Smith recently transitioned into a part-time role as a contractor with the firm. He spent 41 years working as a full-time employee serving as an Account Manager with responsibilities including oversight and implementation of management activities on private, non-industrial clients’ forestlands in the Macon, Georgia office.
Phil also serves as a project leader on large-scale timber inventory projects completed across the southeastern US. He joined FRC in 1980 after brief employment with a forest products company. In this position, he handles all aspects of forest operations management for clients in northeastern Georgia and western South Carolina. Before being promoted into this role, he worked as a Forester out of our Columbus, GA office where gaining valuable experience by providing oversight of field operations, administrative responsibilities, and annual budget development on client-owned lands in eastern Alabama and western Georgia
Prior to joining FRC in January 2023, Jackson worked as a company summer intern in 2020 and 2022. As an intern, he completed a variety of field technician tasks across the region. Jackson earned his Bachelor of Natural Resource Management in Forestry from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) in the fall of 2022.
Shane Boyer

As Director of Real Estate Services, Shane’s focus is to set the strategic course and aggressively market and expand FRC’s real estate services footprint across the southeastern United States. Within this role, he is actively looking to expand the company’s client base, provide oversight on real estate transactions completed by the firm, and also serving as Managing Broker in Georgia and actively market properties on behalf of the company. Shane previously served as a Real Estate Consultant and Sales Agent with FRC for two years before being promoted into this leadership role.
Prior to joining FRC, Shane worked with Greencone Investments, LLC, where he assisted investors in acquiring properties for the purpose of establishing conservation easements as well as managing a portfolio of client-owned timberland assets. Before working with Greencone, he spent eleven years serving as a Vice President and Capital Markets Officer with AgSouth Farm Credit.
In this position, he was responsible for client development and loan underwriting on a portfolio of timberland assets averaging approximately $150 million annually. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Forestry at the University of Georgia, Shane spent nearly eight years procuring wood for two timber dealers in northeastern Georgia and the Upstate of South Carolina.
He is an active member of the Georgia Forestry Association and is a past member of the Georgia Forestry Foundation Board of Trustees.

David Foil previously served as company President and Board Chairman for twenty years. Tim is the Central Operations Manager and Real Estate Sales Agent responsible for oversight of forest management activities on all client-owned property in Alabama, western Georgia, and Mississippi. Most recently, Tim has served as Regional Manager of FRC’s Texas Operations.
In this position, he was successful in leading over 40 employees in the management of 1.1 million acres of client-owned assets. Since joining FRC in 2006 and becoming a shareholder in 2017, Tim has successfully opened offices in southeastern Georgia as well as launched the Lumpkin, Georgia operations. He has 36 years of forest operations experience in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Texas.
Tim obtained a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from Michigan Technological University. He is a past board member of the Liberty County Forestry Board and Partners for Parks at Lake Warren State Park.

Hal Carter is the Director of Valuation Services for FRC and is located in the Cordele, Georgia office. Hal leads the Valuation Services Team collaborating on appraisal and acquisition due diligence projects on timberland and farmland properties throughout the southeastern United States. He joined FRC in July of 2023 as a Senior Appraiser.
Prior to joining FRC, he worked at AgGeorgia Farm Credit for 12 years, serving as the bank’s Chief Appraiser from 2020 until his departure. As Chief Appraiser, he led a team of valuators and certified appraisers in completing appraisals of timberland and farmland across the AgGeorgia territory. His experience also includes working for ten years as an independent fee appraiser. During this time, he completed real estate valuation projects on residential, commercial, and rural land.
Hal received an undergraduate degree in General Business from Georgia Southern University (GSU) in 1998. While at GSU, he competed as a member of the Eagles football team. Hal is a Certified General Real Property Appraiser in multiple states and earned the designation of Accredited Rural Appraiser from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers.

Before joining FRC, he worked for 28 years in institutional forest investment planning and portfolio decision support for Hancock Forest Management, BTG Pactual, Forest Systems, and Resource Management Service. Paul Nace

As Senior Analyst, Paul provides support on projects completed by the Technical Services team. He also utilizes his experience in various forest inventory techniques, spatial and tabular database management, growth and yield, and VBA and SQL programming to develop and maintain large-scale geodatabase systems and to test various forestry software designs.
Prior to joining the FRC staff in 2011 and becoming a shareholder in 2016, Paul worked 17 years with Potlatch Corporation, initially managing the GIS operations on more than 500,000 acres in Arkansas. Later, he transferred to the company’s headquarters in Spokane, Washington, and led the GIS Analytics Team, which managed geodatabase systems on the company’s 1.5-million-acre land base. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from Mississippi State University and later returned to complete a Master of Forest Management and GIS.
